The filming for ‘Mortal Kombat 2‘ has wrapped, as confirmed by Lewis Tan in a social media post featuring a wrap party picture with the cast. See the image below.
In the image, Tan is seen alongside Martyn Ford, who portrays Shao Kahn. Plot details are not yet available.
Directed by Simon McQuoid from a screenplay by Jeremy Slater, ‘Mortal Kombat 2’ is based on the video game franchise created by John Tobias and Ed Boon. Serving as the sequel to 2021’s ‘Mortal Kombat,’ the film is also the fourth installment in the Mortal Kombat film series.
The film stars Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Mehcad Brooks as Jackson ‘Jax’ Briggs, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han/Noob Saibot, Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion, Josh Lawson as Kano, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Ford as Shao Kahn, Desmond Chiam as King Jerrod, Ana Thu Nguyen as Queen Sindel, Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, and CJ. Bloomfield as Baraka.

Producer Garner celebrated the end of filming with a quick video message on Twitter for fans eagerly anticipating the sequel to 2021’s Mortal Kombat. However, he warned that there won’t be much revealed just yet.
Garner said, “That’s a wrap from me on Mortal Kombat,” Garner added, “This has been an incredible, incredible journey. I can’t wait for you all to see what we’ve done.”
Garner continued, “It’s gonna be a while, we have a lot of work to do. I know I’m gonna start getting a lot of messages about like, ‘When is the trailer? When is the trailer?’ It’s gonna be a while. We’re gonna work hard, we’re gonna get it done. I think we made something special, and I hope you agree.”
‘Mortal Kombat 2’ is scheduled to hit theaters in 2024.
