Marvel Renewed Ms. Marvel For A Second Season
Marvel Studios renewed Ms. Marvel for a season 2 on Disney+. The news came from a scooper Daniel Richtman (via CBR), Ms. Marvel season 2 Is coming to Disney+.
During Disney’s D23 Expo, Iman Vellani spoke to a source about Ms. Marvel season 2, told “Anything I’ve heard? …They don’t tell me anything. So, you’re not gonna hear anything…. Hopefully. Yeah, we’ve got to start a petition or something, yeah.”
She said “It would be fun to see Kamala post-‘The Marvels’ after she’s fought with her idol. It’s similar to what Spider-Man went through after fighting with the Avengers in ‘Civil War’ and going back to the friendly neighborhood thing.”
Ms. Marvel Series is created by Bisha K. Ali. The series is an origin story for Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old fangirl of the Avengers who struggles to fit in until she gains Ms. Marvel powers. The series premiered on June 8, 2022, with six episodes until July 13. The show so far become one of the fan favorites. The series also stars Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, Laurel Marsden, Azhar Usman, Rish Shah, Arian Moayed, Alysia Reiner, Laith Nakli, Nimra Bucha.
Vellani’s Ms. Marvel recently appeared in The Marvels, which is a sequel to Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, WandaVision, Ms. Marvel, and Secret Invasion. In The Marvels, Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and took revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with those of Jersey City superfan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as “The Marvels”. The film will be part of MCU’s Phase 5. Directed by Nia DaCosta from a screenplay by Megan McDonnell. Watch the trailer.
