Marvel’s Thunderbolts* has revealed the New Avengers in the MCU. It is reported that the New Avengers and the Fantastic Four will be appearing in various upcoming Marvel movies.

According to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, members of the New Avengers — including Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), John Walker / U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), and Robert “Bob” Reynolds / Sentry (Lewis Pullman) — along with Fantastic Four members Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn), are reportedly set to appear in several upcoming Marvel films. They are confirmed to be part of the main lineup in Avengers: Doomsday.
The source also reported that the Vision series, starring Paul Bettany, is reportedly set to be the final Marvel TV series to feature major characters from the films. The series will premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
A recent report from the Wall Street Journal says Marvel President Kevin Feige reportedly told colleagues that watching every new MCU project had begun to feel more like homework than entertainment.
Disney’s recent content strategy had the goal of producing as many Disney+ shows as possible. ‘The strategy became just expansion, expansion, expansion,’ they said, referring to the period after the Infinity Saga.
During Wednesday’s investor call, Disney CEO Bob Iger said Thunderbolts* is the “first and best example” of Marvel’s new focus on producing stronger, more successful movies.
Iger stated, “We’ve learned over time that quantity does not necessarily beget quality. Frankly, we’ve all admitted to ourselves that we lost a little focus by making too much. By consolidating a bit and having Marvel focus much more on their films, we believe it will result in better quality. I think the first and best example of that is Thunderbolts*.”
Here’s the synopsis for Thunderbolts*:
“In Thunderbolts*, Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes — Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker. After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap — set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine — these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart — or find redemption and unite as something much more — before it’s too late?”
Marvel’s Thunderbolts is now playing in theaters, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released on July 25, 2025.
