The Russo Brothers have reportedly filmed new scenes for the opening sequence of Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday. The film is already in post-production following the recent reshoots. Marvel Studios is set to debut the Avengers: Doomsday trailer at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
According to scooper James Mack on Patreon, new details have been revealed about the additional Avengers: Doomsday opening sequence footage that was filmed during the reshoots.
The opening of Avengers: Doomsday will reportedly feature the following scenes:
- X-Men vs. Incursions
- Steve and his life with Peggy (Loki and Mobius appear in this scene)
- Doctor Doom, the Fantastic Four, and Steve Rogers
- The New Avengers (events before the post-credits scene of Thunderbolts*)
- Sam Wilson’s Avengers
- Thor and Love in New Asgard
The sequence reportedly continues until the moment the Fantastic Four’s ship arrives on Earth-616. Thor is the first to stop their ship and meet the team.
In a recent interview with Deadline, Joe Russo said that the additional footage being released in the Avengers: Endgame re-release will be “critical” to the plot of Avengers: Doomsday.
“It’s an opportunity to create a bridge in a very unique way.”

In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes are set on a deadly collision course, facing an existential threat unlike anything they have ever encountered.
The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz, with Callum McDougall serving as executive producer.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released in theaters across the United States on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled for release on December 17, 2027.
