Marvel Studios has released three new character posters featuring Jon Bernthal‘s Punisher from The Punisher: One Last Kill. The special takes place during the events of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. See the posters below.
Speaking to Variety, Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane explained when The Punisher: One Last Kill takes place.
Scardapane said, “I think this tells the story of what happened next after Punisher and before and during the events of Born Again Season 2.”
In a recent interview with ComicBook, Bernthal said Frank Castle gets a new take on the character in The Punisher: One Last Kill:
Bernthal said, “We really tried to honor the comic and the comic book fans. The directive from day one was pretty simple: how do we get Frank from this place in his life, where he is reeling and spiraling out of control—a man set on absolute vengeance—to a place where he can find some meaning, where he can find something new to fight for? But he does find a bit of purpose, and I think that is an exciting new take on the character.”
The Special Presentation will follow Frank as he “searches for meaning beyond revenge, when an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight.”
It stars Bernthal stars as Frank Castle / The Punisher, alongside Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle, his close friend and former U.S. Navy SARC who now leads a therapy group after losing part of his leg in combat, with Roe Rancell as Dennis, Mila Jaymes as Charli, and Judith Light as Ma Gnucci; as a powerful crime boss.
The Punisher: One Last Kill is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and co-written by Green and Jon Bernthal for Disney+. Based on the Marvel Comics character, it will be the third Marvel Studios Special Presentation in the MCU, sharing continuity with the franchise’s films and series.
The Punisher: One Last Kill will premiere on Disney+ on May 12, 2026.
