Warning: This post contains major spoilers for Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
New images of Galactus (Ralph Ineson) fighting the Fantastic Four team on Earth-828 from Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps have been revealed.

In the movie, when Galactus arrives on Earth-828 to take Franklin Richards, the team uses Franklin as bait and plans to lure Galactus to the last bridge and teleport him away from the universe. However, Galactus discovers the team’s trap and fights them.

When Galactus tries to kidnap Franklin, Sue (Vanessa Kirby) uses all her strength to push him toward the portal with a force field while Reed rescues Franklin. Johnny (Joseph Quinn) decides to sacrifice himself to give Galactus a final push into the portal, but he is stopped by Shalla-Bal (Julia Garner), who pushes Galactus in herself as the portal closes behind them.

Most recently, concept art for Galactus was revealed by concept artist and Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development, Ryan Meinerding. He said, “There was a lot of work on Galactus, trying to figure out the appropriate scale and how he’s going to be experienced for the first time, and we did key frames surrounding that.” He added, “But Galactus was a complete joy to work on. He was challenging to try to get as much detail on. He was meant to be one of those cosmic characters that you almost can’t fully appreciate how big he is. We also stayed close to the Kirby design.”

Director Matt Shakman confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that they didn’t just use motion capture or CGI — they built a full costume for the character, with Ineson wearing it on set. They designed Galactus’s iconic purple-and-blue armor from the comics, and the team tested multiple versions to ensure it looked right on screen.
Here’s the plot details for The Fantastic Four: First Steps:
Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm / Invisible Woman (Kirby), Johnny Storm / Human Torch (Quinn), and Ben Grimm / The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.
Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet — and everyone on it — weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
The film also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Directed by Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige, and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is now playing in theaters and has grossed $227 million worldwide in its opening weekend. Additionally, the film’s digital release date has been confirmed.
