A new leak from the PlayStation Store has revealed the next Premium Warbond for Helldivers 2—called “Freedom’s Flame“—which will feature fire-themed content. Despite Arrowhead Game Studios confirming they would slow down update releases to focus on quality, a new Warbond may be on the way for players. What does the recent leak on the Helldivers reveal about the next Premium Warbond for Helldivers 2?
A recent leak on the Helldivers subreddit—discovered by user ExoticBobcat777—has revealed a potential sneak peek at the next Premium Warbond for Helldivers 2 on the PlayStation Store. Although Arrowhead hasn’t officially announced it, the leak hints at a new Warbond called “Freedom’s Flame”—featuring fire-themed content.
Despite Arrowhead’s previous statement about slowing down Warbond releases to focus on quality, this new Warbond might be arriving sooner than expected. The PSN notification—while still listing “Viper Commandos”—includes details about this unreleased content.
The PlayStation Store description states, “Dial up the temperature to cremate our enemies of justice, Helldivers! The Freedom’s Flame Premium Warbond is deploying to your Destroyer’s Acquisitions panel. Includes fiery weapons, life-saving armor, co-op capes, fresh emotes, player cards, and patterns.”
Helldivers 2 is a cooperative third-person shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is the direct sequel to the 2015 top-down shooter Helldivers and is now available on PlayStation 5 and Windows.
Helldivers 2 takes place in a satirical, futuristic setting in which mankind is ruled by the “managed democracy” of Super Earth, approximately a century after the events of the first game. Players take the roles of Helldivers, expendable elite soldiers who fight and die to protect the rest of humanity from various enemy factions. Helldivers 2 is a tactical shooter presented from a third-person perspective, unlike its predecessor which was designed as an isometric top-down shooter. Missions focus on cooperative gameplay between up to four players, who are encouraged to coordinate their actions and tactics together to eliminate enemies and complete objectives. Helldivers 2 carries over several hallmarks of the first game, including permanent friendly-fire and a feature called stratagems, which summon specific tools and abilities to the team’s side.
