A new report reveals that the Department of Damage Control is playing a major role in the MCU, as it is hunting mutants on Earth-616.
According to scooper Majestic’s report, in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the Department of Damage Control is searching for individuals with active mutant genes on Earth-616. They are aware that several mutants are hidden, and their goal is to locate and hunt them down one by one before they become public.
It is also reported that in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Sadie Sink‘s character is mentally controlling the Hulk to cause widespread damage and distract Spider-Man, who is under constant surveillance. The real motive is not to attack him, but to prevent Damage Control from detecting the mutants Peter might encounter. She fears that if they are discovered now, they will be captured.

Damage Control also plays a major role in Wonder Man, as its operations expand and surveillance of individuals with anomalous abilities increases. Among the mutants already active is Doorman, whose powers make him a difficult anomaly to track, yet he is still targeted by Damage Control.
Taken together, everything points to a silent hunt for mutants taking place in the shadows of the MCU, while the public and the heroes believe it is merely damage control, when in reality it is genetic control.
Recently, The Cosmic Circus reported that Tramell Tillman will play the head of the Department of Damage Control and appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Tillman’s character leads the hunt for Sink’s character. The investigation also brings Frank Castle, Bruce Banner, and Spider-Man under scrutiny. In Brand New Day, Sink’s character is reportedly under the protection of Jon Bernthal‘s Punisher.
The DODC first appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming as a cleanup and tech-storage agency. At that time, it operated under Tony Stark after he acquired it in 2012 following The Avengers, originally focusing on post-battle damage control and alien tech containment. Following Avengers: Endgame and Tony Stark’s death, the DODC evolved into a more aggressive agency. It began interrogating and detaining enhanced individuals rather than simply cleaning up after them. Targets have included Peter Parker, Kamala Khan, Jennifer Walters, and Simon Williams.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. It stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as MJ Watson and Ned Leeds, and Tony Revolori as Eugene “Flash” Thompson.
Sadie Sink joins the cast alongside Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (a.k.a. The Punisher) and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman have also been cast in undisclosed roles, while Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan from Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Marvin Jones III has been confirmed to play Tombstone. Additionally, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova will appear in the movie.
