Note: This article contains spoilers for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
A new plot details report for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day reveals major spoilers involving multiple villains and Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) life after the world has forgotten his identity.

In Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Peter Parker is completely alone without MJ Watson, without Ned Leeds, and without an identity, living through his darkest phase since Spider-Man: No Way Home.
There will be two main villains, said to be a man and a woman, both clad in samurai-style armor and surrounded by ninjas. At first, it was believed they might be Silver Samurai and Viper, but that rumor has since been discarded. But, behind them is a corrupt MIT operating in the shadows. The female villain has mind-control powers, is a shapeshifter, and hails from the darkest corners of the Spider-Man universe. It is rumored that she is Shathra, played by Sadie Sink.

Also, Bruce Banner will turn into a savage Hulk, angrier than he has ever been before in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He may be pushed to the point where he could kill someone. The film opens with a montage showing Spider-Man fighting various villains over the years while progressively improving his suit, and finally explains where Peter was during the Anti-Vigilante Task Force riots.
The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. It stars Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as MJ Watson and Ned Leeds, and Tony Revolori as Eugene “Flash” Thompson.
Sadie Sink joins the cast alongside Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (a.k.a. The Punisher) and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman have also been cast in undisclosed roles, while Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan from Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Marvin Jones III has been confirmed to play Tombstone. Additionally, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova will appear in the movie.
Here’s the new synopsis for Spider-Man: Brand New Day:
After the world has forgotten his name, Peter Parker (Holland) begins a new chapter in his life — balancing college classes, part-time work, and his responsibility as New York’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. But when a mysterious force begins to unravel the city from the inside out, Peter finds himself caught between powerful enemies, old legacies, and unexpected allies. As shadows from the past creep into his present, he must redefine what it truly means to be a hero — on his own.
The film is produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters and IMAX on July 31, 2026.
