The new unused promotional posters for Marvel’s Thunderbolts* (The New Avengers) have been revealed by concept artist Joshua Ecton.
On Joshua Ecton’s official website, the unused promotional artwork showcases several early teaser designs developed during the film’s promotional stage.
The taglines featured in the promotional concepts include: “They’re Not Known for Their Teamwork,” “Teamwork Is Overrated,” “This Team Fights in the Shadows,” and “They’re Their Own Worst Enemies.”
The posters feature several main characters from the movie, with Florence Pugh‘s Yelena Belova placed at the center of many designs. Other characters shown include Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, U.S. Agent, Sentry, Ghost, Taskmaster, and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. The artwork uses fire, shadows, and desert backgrounds to give the posters a darker look and show the team’s unstable relationship.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Wyatt Russell opened up about returning as John Walker in Avengers: Doomsday.
Russell said, “The John Walker I played in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in 2020 is a completely different version from the guy in Thunderbolts, and I think he’ll be completely different again in Avengers: Doomsday.”

Thunderbolts* was released in the United States on May 2, 2025, as the final film in Phase Five of the MCU. The film has grossed $382.4 million worldwide and is now available on Digital, 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and Disney+.
