A new teaser for John Cena’s Peacemaker Season 2 was released during Inside the NBA on TNT.
During the broadcast, Cena made a surprise appearance to promote Peacemaker Season 2. The full trailer will be released this Friday. Watch the teaser below.
In the teaser, Peacemaker’s new DCU suit is featured, along with a pocket dimension, a new look at the 11th Street Kids, and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr.

The show is set in the DC Universe (DCU) and serves as a “soft reboot” of the series, which originated as a spin-off from the 2021 DC Extended Universe (DCEU) film—The Suicide Squad. It is produced by DC Studios with James Gunn as the showrunner.

In a recent interview with THR, Gunn says that Peacemaker season 2 is going to take people by surprise as it takes a “very different route than the first season.”
Gunn said, “Season two of Peacemaker is also going to take people by surprise. We take a very different route than the first season, and it’s a really magical story that people are going to be blown away by. Frank Grillo, of course, is a major part of that [and Superman], as his character, Rick Flag Sr., from Creature Commandos.”
Returning for Peacemaker Season 2 are Cena as Christopher Smith / Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase / Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Robert Patrick as August “Auggie” Smith / White Dragon, Nhut Le as Judomaster, and Eagly as Peacemaker’s pet bald eagle. New cast members include Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sol Rodríguez as Sasha Bordeaux, Tim Meadows as Langston Fleury, along with David Denman, Anissa Matlock, Taylor St. Clair, Dorian Kingi, and Brandon Stanley in undisclosed roles. Also, Peacemaker’s pet bald eagle, Eagly, also returns for Season 2.
Peacemaker Season 2 will consist of eight episodes and is set to premiere on Max on August 21, 2025.
