Warning: This post contains spoilers for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Tom Holland‘s Peter Parker has been keeping the letter he wrote for Zendaya‘s MJ since the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
In the recent trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the letter he wrote for MJ was revealed. Below, you can see the transcript of Peter’s letter to MJ.

“Hi, my name is Peter Parker, and you don’t remember me, but I have something to tell you that’s going to sound crazy. But it’s the truth, and I know you’re going to believe me, because you’re very good at telling when I’m lying.
We used to know each other. We were together.
But something bad was going to happen to the world.
And the only way to stop it was to make everyone forget me, including you.
Because I’m not just Peter Parker. I’m Spider-Man.
And sometimes Spider-Man has to do the hard thing,
even if it breaks Peter Parker’s heart.
Maybe I’ll never read this to you. Maybe I’m just writing this for me. Maybe that’s my responsibility — to live alone with the truth.
But the truth is, I love you. And I hope that deep down, something inside you remembers you love me too.”
The trailer shows that Zendaya’s MJ has a new boyfriend, a character played by Eman Esfandi.
Here are the plot details for Spider-Man: Brand New Day:
After the record-breaking global success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks an entirely new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man.
Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he has devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, and based on the Marvel comic book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, the film is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Rachel O’Connor, with Louis D’Esposito and David Cain serving as executive producers.
The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as MJ Watson and Ned Leeds. Sadie Sink joins the cast alongside Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (a.k.a. The Punisher) and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman have also been cast in undisclosed roles, while Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Marvin Jones III has been confirmed to play the role of Tombstone. Additionally, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova will appear in the movie.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU.
