A new report has revealed that Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday will feature an important character death, which will reunite the Young Avengers for a future battle.
According to user MAJESTIC, who shared a leaked version of the Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer, Hailee Steinfeld will reprise her role as Kate Bishop. She will be joined by Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel) and Kathryn Newton (Cassie Lang), who are set to return in Doomsday in an important scene alongside Scott Lang (Paul Rudd).
Spoiler: Scott Lang is rumored to die in Avengers: Doomsday. Following his death, the Young Avengers will unite and later appear in Avengers: Secret Wars.
In Doomsday, two final battles take place at the end. In New York City, all the heroes of Earth-616 face off against those of Earth-838. Among the heroes of Earth-616 are the Avengers, Spider-Man, the Young Avengers, the Wakandans, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the Mutants. It is a full-scale, Endgame-level fight, with all the teams reuniting for the final time. Meanwhile, the heroes and villains of Earth-838, led by Doctor Doom’s team.
Earlier this year, we reported that Marvel Television is developing a Young Avengers project titled Champions. The synopsis reads: “After a devastating event, mysterious teen heroes emerge, calling themselves the Young Avengers. But who are these young vigilantes, and what gives them the right to use that name?”
Doomsday is directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron. The film features cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and production design by Kasra Farahani.
