The VOD release date for The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants has been revealed.
The film will be available to buy or rent in digital HD on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play Movies starting January 20, 2026.
Directed by Derek Drymon and is based on the SpongeBob SquarePants television series created by Stephen Hillenburg. In the film, SpongeBob sets out to earn his swashbuckling certificate, but a trick by the Flying Dutchman sends him on an epic underworld quest—where he learns that true courage shines brightest with friends by his side.
The film scored 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, a 6.2/10 on IMDb, and earned an A− on CinemaScore.

SpongeBob and his Bikini Bottom friends set sail on their biggest adventure yet!
