Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has a new update on the casting for a villain role and Sadie Sink‘s role, which she is set to play in the movie.
During the latest episode of The Hot Mic, Jeff Sneider revealed that Sarah Snook (Run Rabbit Run, The Beanie Bubble) is rumored to play a secondary villain in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. As of now, her Marvel character has not yet been confirmed.

Another major update is regarding Sink’s role in the movie. Sink is reportedly playing Mayday Parker. The film bridges the street-level story and the multiverse, and somehow Mayday Parker is connected to Tobey Maguire‘s Spider-Man universe, as she is the daughter of Peter Parker and Mary Jane “MJ” Watson.
I heard that Sink is playing Mayday Parker, which connects to the Tobey Maguire universe. She’s his daughter — Peter Parker’s daughter — from that Spider-Man universe.
“Wait, I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
Mayday Parker is Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker’s daughter in that universe.
“So… she’s his sister from a different universe?”
No, right — exactly. She’s his daughter, but it’s tied to a multiverse twist.
Recently, Alex Perez (via The Cosmic Circus) reported that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will feature “a dark, mysterious female character” with a Japanese-inspired look. The costume department is currently researching armor inspired by Japanese shinobi and samurai, specifically from the late 17th century.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will begin filming in August 2025 in the United Kingdom. Destin Daniel Cretton will direct the film from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, with a production budget of $200 million.

Here’s the plot details for Spider-Man: Brand New Day:
Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows the events of Avengers: Doomsday. Peter Parker is determined to lead a normal life and focus on college, stepping back from his responsibilities as Spider-Man. However, peace is short-lived when a deadly new threat emerges, endangering his friends and forcing Peter to reconsider his promise. With the stakes higher than ever, Peter reluctantly returns to his Spider-Man identity and finds himself teaming up with an unlikely ally to protect those he loves.
We previously reported that Marvel Studios wants Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man to appear in Avengers: Doomsday. The deal with Sony is already in place, and the studio is currently working through the agreement with Holland — including financial terms and scheduling.
The film stars Holland returning as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Zendaya as MJ Watson, and Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas in undisclosed roles. Additionally, Marvel Studios is casting for three new roles in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Two of these roles are for villains — one male and one female.
The film will be produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
