The 11th ‘Saw‘ movie is officially in the works and is set to hit theaters on September 27, 2024, just nine months after ‘Saw X‘ was released.
Recently, Lionsgate revealed a first look at ‘Saw XI‘ on Instagram, confirming the release date with the caption, “The game continues.” See the post below.
‘Saw X’ was released by Lionsgate on September 29, 2023, and made over $38.1 million on a $13 million budget. Directed by Kevin Greutert and written by Peter Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg. In the film, John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is back. It is the most chilling installment of the Saw franchise yet explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal game. Set between the events of SAW I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, John returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through a series of ingenious and terrifying traps.
In an interview, Greutert revealed that certain elements in ‘Saw X’ ending serve as a fitting and definitive send-off for the character if it is indeed the last installment. Greutert said, “Well, I made this film (Saw X), you know, knowing that it might be the last.”
The film stars Bell as John Kramer/Jigsaw, Shawnee Smith as Amanda Young, Synnøve Macody Lund as Cecilia Pederson, Steven Brand as Parker Sears, Michael Beach as Henry Kessler, Renata Vaca as Gabriela, Paulette Hernandez as Valentina, Octavio Hinojosa as Mateo, and Joshua Okamoto as Diego/Dr. Cortez.
You can watch ‘Saw X’ by purchasing it on various digital HD platforms like Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play Movies & TV starting on October 20, 2023. You can also watch it on DVD, which is set to be released in December 2023.
