Sophie Turner as Lara Croft was spotted on the set of the upcoming Amazon Tomb Raider series while filming in Surrey, England.
In the images, Sophie is seen wearing the Lara Croft costume and filming an action scene with a parachute.

According to reports, “Sophie’s Lara Croft was seen soaring over a lake on a parachute before running through the woods and grabbing an umbrella to shelter from the elements between takes. She swapped Lara’s signature hot pants for grey cargo pants in the scene, pairing the garment with a ribbed brown shirt and a navy gilet.”

The series stars Turner as Lara Croft, alongside Martin Bobb-Semple as Zip, Sigourney Weaver as Evelyn Wallis, Jason Isaacs as Atlas DeMornay, Bill Paterson as Winston, Jack Bannon as Gerry, John Heffernan as David, and Celia Imrie as Francine, with Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, and August Wittgenstein also appearing in the cast.
According to the press release, “The Prime Video series Tomb Raider is based on the iconic Tomb Raider video game franchise, which follows the adventures of world-famous archaeologist and adventurer Lara Croft.”
From Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who serves as creator, writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner alongside Chad Hodge, the series is directed by Jonathan Van Tulleken and produced by Story Kitchen, Crystal Dynamics, and Amazon MGM Studios.
The first Tomb Raider video game was released in 1996, quickly turning Lara Croft into a global action icon. The most recent installment, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, launched in 2018, while several classic titles have been remastered over the years. Two new games, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst, are slated for release in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
The Tomb Raider series is being developed through a partnership between Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios, via Story Kitchen’s first-look deal to expand the franchise into additional films and television series.
The Tomb Raider series will release on Amazon Prime Video in 2027.
