Sony and Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day has recorded the biggest first-day advance ticket presales in five years. Spider-Man: No Way Home was the last film to post presale numbers this strong, collecting roughly $78 million in advance ticket sales before opening to $260.1 million domestically.
According to Deadline, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has surpassed the advance ticket sales of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Meanwhile, Spider-Man: No Way Home still holds the third-biggest global opening of all time with $600.5 million, behind only Avengers: Endgame ($1.22 billion) and Avengers: Infinity War ($640.5 million).

In a recent interview with Esquire, Tom Holland said Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a mystery-driven story. Peter Parker will spend much of the film confused and searching for answers.
Holland said, “This movie is a real mystery, and for a large portion of the film, even Spider-Man is a little bit at odds and lost and is like, ‘What is going on?’ We’re just trying to find ways to make this movie feel like a detective movie.”
Holland says Spider-Man: Brand New Day “is already the best Spider-Man movie that we’ve ever made.”
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as MJ Watson and Ned Leeds. Sadie Sink joins the cast alongside Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (a.k.a. The Punisher) and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman, while Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Marvin Jones III has been confirmed to play the role of Tombstone. Additionally, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova will appear in the movie.
Here are the plot details for Spider-Man: Brand New Day:
After the record-breaking global success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks an entirely new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man.
Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he has devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.
The film is produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters in RealD 3D, D-BOX, Cinemark XD, 4DX, ScreenX, and Dolby Cinema on July 31, 2026. Ticket sales are now live.
