Florence Pugh is confirmed to return as Yelena Belova in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day with a cameo appearance. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige himself confirmed the news during the Shanghai BiliBiliWorld event, stating that the Thunderbolts* star will appear in Brand New Day.
We first reported that in Brand New Day, “Part of Yelena Belova’s role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day is that she and Tom Holland‘s Peter see each other naked.” However, it’s not the kind of vulgar scene some might expect; it’s a different kind of situation.

Recently, insider DanielRPK shared the full details of Pugh’s cameo in the movie. Here are the details, which containspoilers:
“[The scene] takes place in a bathhouse, and [Yelena is] already in the pool. She never gets out. We never see her below the shoulders.
She says [Spider-Man/Peter Parker] has to take off his suit to ensure he doesn’t have weapons, so it’s a hilarious moment of him coming out in shorts and his mask. And he’s jacked. She checks him out, but it’s more her laughing at him for never taking the mask off.”
Daniel also shared, “The post-credits scene of Brand New Day was described to me as dealing with space.”
At the BiliBiliWorld event, Feige teased Yelena Belova’s role in the upcoming MCU movies.
Feige said, “If you’re a fan of Yelena, wait until Avengers: Doomsday. Yelena plays a big part in that. But if you don’t want to wait until then, you might see Yelena a little sooner in the movies.”
According to trusted scooper @Cryptic4KQual, the runtime for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is reportedly 2 hours and 15 minutes, not including the credits. The film has also reportedly crossed $40 million in U.S. presales, with its opening weekend now projected to earn more than $250 million domestically.
Here’s the synopsis for Spider-Man: Brand New Day:
After the record-breaking global success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks an entirely new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man.
Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as MJ Watson and Ned Leeds. Sadie Sink joins the cast alongside Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (a.k.a. The Punisher) and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman have also been cast in undisclosed roles, while Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Marvin Jones III as Tombstone.
The film is produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
