The Authority Joins James Gunn’s ‘Superman: Legacy’
There is an interesting update today on James Gunn‘s ‘Superman: Legacy‘ from THR’s Heat Vision. According to their source, the members of the supergroup The Authority will appear in the upcoming film ‘Superman: Legacy’.
Who Are the Authority and the Team Members?
The Authority is a superhero team published by WildStorm Productions, an imprint of DC Comics. Created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch. The Authority is a powerful and often controversial team known for taking a proactive strategy to maintain global order and confronting threats that traditional superheroes might shy away from.
The main members of The Authority in DC Comics include Apollo, Midnighter, Jenny Sparks/Jenny Quantum, The Engineer, Jack Hawksmoor, Swift, The Doctor, and The Drummer.
The film is written and directed by James Gunn, and he also produces with Peter Safran.
According to Deadline, Warner Bros. and DC Films are closing in on casting for ‘Superman: Legacy,’ as in-person auditions are set to take place soon. Nicholas Hoult, David Corenswet, and Tom Brittney are expected to test for Superman, while Emma Mackey, Rachel Brosnahan, and Phoebe Dynevor are set to audition for Lois Lane.
Superman: Legacy follows the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
Superman: Legacy will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
