Marvel Studios has found the villain for ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’
The Beyonder is confirmed as the main villain in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ providing a reason to consider recasting Kang the Conqueror (played by Jonathan Majors).
Who is ‘The Beyonder’ in Marvel Comics?
In Marvel Comics, The Beyonder first appeared in ‘Secret Wars’ #1 in 1984. With god-like abilities, the Beyonder is often depicted as a cosmic entity. In the ‘Secret Wars’ storyline, the Beyonder transports Marvel superheroes and villains to Battleworld, where they must engage in battles. The character’s origin and nature have been explored and altered in different Marvel storylines over the years.
As previously reported, ‘Secret Wars’ will be a soft reboot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in Earth-1999. It marks the end of the current MCU and the Fox-Verse, setting the stage for a new and distinct MCU.
In ‘Secret Wars,’ Tobey Maguire will reprise his role as Spider-Man, following his last appearance in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ and Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine, continuing from ‘Deadpool 3.’
‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is a sequel to previous Avengers movies, including “The Avengers,” “Age of Ultron,” “Infinity War,” “Endgame,” and “The Kang Dynasty.” The film is the forty-sixth installment in the MCU, serving as the final chapter of Phase Six and The Multiverse Saga.
Michael Waldron pens the script, and the director could be Alfonso Cuarón or Sam Raimi. Reports indicate that Jackman’s Wolverine will play a “major part” in the storyline, which picks up after the events of ‘Deadpool 3’.
Marvel’s Avengers 5: ‘The Kang Dynasty’ Shifts Focus with New Script and Release Date
‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty‘ is now being called Avengers 5. Marvel is revamping the entire script following the termination of Jonathan Majors, shifting the focus to a new villain-centric film. ‘The Kang Dynasty’ will start filming in late 2024 and will hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
