The Video on Demand (VOD) release date for ‘The Boogeyman‘ has been revealed. The film will be available for buying or renting on digital platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, iTunes, and Google Play Movies & TV on August 29, 2023. The launch date for Hulu is yet to be announced, while the estimated release date for the DVD and Blu-ray versions is October 2023.
Directed by Rob Savage from a screenplay by Scott Beck, Bryan Woods, and Mark Heyman and a screen story by Beck and Woods. The film is based on Stephen King‘s 1973 short story of the same name.
‘The Boogeyman’ stars Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets), Chris Messina (Birds of Prey), Vivien Lyra Blair (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Marin Ireland (The Umbrella Academy), Madison Hu (Bizaardvark), LisaGay Hamilton (Vice), and David Dastmalchian (Dune).
What is the Plot of The Boogeyman?
According to the film’s plot, High school student Sadie Harper and her younger sister Sawyer are reeling from the recent death of their mother and aren’t getting much support from their father, Will, a therapist who is dealing with his own pain. When a desperate patient unexpectedly shows up at their home seeking help, he leaves behind a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims.
Produced by Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Dan Cohen, the film was released by 20th Century Studios in theaters on June 2, 2023. It has made $82 million worldwide from a $35 million budget. The film was ranked as one of the best films in June 2023 that you absolutely can’t-miss.
