The final movie in the Conjuring franchise, titled The Conjuring: Last Rites, has wrapped filming, as confirmed by the film’s star, Vera Farmiga, with an emotional note.
On a Instagram post, Farmiga wrote, “Roundabout 5000 days ago, this guy and I signed a WB contract and said “I do” to embodying Ed and Lorraine Warren.” Farmiga added, “Today, he wraps. I have another 12 hours of laughter and insanity with him and then abruptly, he will walk off set, peel off sweat soaked demonologist garb, shave off his side burns, flash that dazzling smile and bid our fake marriage adieu. Yeah… I got them feels today. It was a match made in heaven, PWilz. A hell of an era. Here’s to 12 years. I cherish you, Patrick Wilson, Warner Bros. Pictures, James Wan, and Michael Chaves.”
Filming began in October and wrapped by November 2024. The film has now entered post-production, and its release date has already been confirmed.
Directed by Chaves, with a screenplay written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, Ian Goldberg, and Richard Naing. The film is a sequel to The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021) and the ninth installment in The Conjuring Universe.
The synopsis for The Conjuring: Last Rites follows, “Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren take on one last terrifying case involving mysterious entities they must confront.”
The film also stars Ben Hardy as Tony Spera and Mia Tomlinson as Judy Warren.
Produced by Wan and Peter Safran, with production companies including New Line Cinema, The Safran Company, and Atomic Monster.
The Conjuring: Last Rites hits theaters on September 5, 2025, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
