The first look at Ed McVey as Prince William and Meg Bellamy as Kate Middleton from ‘The Crown Season 6‘ has been revealed. Season 6 mainly focuses on the reign of Queen Elizabeth II from her wedding in 1947 through the early 21st century and also focuses on the period between the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1997 and the wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla in 2005.
As per Variety, Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy are set to play Prince William and Kate Middleton. The couple will be shown at the time they met while attending university, starting their love story and leading to their marriage, which was made official in 2011. The first appearance of Prince William and Kate is notable because the show’s timeline will be the closest it’s ever been to the present.
The Crown was created by Peter Morgan, a British screenwriter and playwright. The show is produced by Left Bank Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Television and was initially developed for Netflix. The series features an ensemble cast that includes Claire Foy, Olivia Colman, Matt Smith, Tobias Menzies, Helena Bonham Carter, and Gillian Anderson, among others.
The Crown Season 6 release date is TBA on Netflix.
