The film is tracking to earn between $115 million–$140 million during its opening weekend at the domestic box office. The Flash, directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Christina Hodson, the plot is based on the comic book storyline “Flashpoint,” and follows: Worlds collide when the Flash uses his superpowers to travel back in time to change the events of the past. However, when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, he becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation. With no other superheroes to turn to, the Flash looks to coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian—albeit not the one he’s looking for. Read our review.
‘The Flash’ contains approximately 3000 VFX shots, handled by DNEG, Scanline VFX, and WetaFX, under the supervision of visual effects supervisor John “DJ” Desjardin. The film’s production budget, excluding marketing expenses, is estimated to be around $200–220 million.
The film stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, alongside Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, Ben Affleck, and Michael Keaton.
Produced by DC Studios, Double Dream, and the Disco Factory, and set for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures. The Flash hits theaters on June 16, 2023.
