Marvel Studios to Adapt ‘Damnation’ Storyline With Mephisto as the Villain

The film’s plot is based on the comic book storyline “Flashpoint,” and it follows: Worlds collide when the Flash uses his superpowers to travel back in time to change the events of the past. However, when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, he becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation. With no other superheroes to turn to, the Flash looks to coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian—albeit not the one he’s looking for.

The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Christina Hodson and stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash alongside Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, and Michael Keaton.

Produced by DC Studios, Double Dream, and the Disco Factory, and set for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures. The Flash runs into theaters on June 16, 2023.
