The Last of Us Episode 8 Review: The beast mode of Ellie (Bella Ramsey) is unleashed in The Last of Us Episode 8. The episode begins with Ellie giving medical assistance to Joel (Pedro Pascal), after which she steps outside with Joel’s gun to find food for him and encounters a deer. At around this moment, she meets David (Scott Shepherd) and James (Troy Baker), who are also searching for food. She exchanges her deer for penicillin to treat Joel. During the chat, David tells Elle that after the apocalypse, he found God and is now leading a group of survivors.
David provides the penicillin to Ellie, who then returns home to inject it into Joel. Later, David finds that the man who stabbed Joel was a member of his gang, and the next day, David and his group take revenge on Joel. They want to kill Joel and take Ellie to one of the survivors. Ellie saw that a group of men was nearing the home, so she gave Joel a knife and told him to kill them all. She then flees on the horse, and the horse is shot, and Ellie is caught. As the group reaches Joel, he kills two and captures two in order to find out where the girl is. They gave her the location, therefore Joel killed them as well.
When Ellie woke up, she was in a cage and requested David let her out. But still, David refused to let her go. He claims to feed human meat to his group. She bit David’s finger and made him bleed, so David and James decided to kill Ellie, but she killed James and tried to escape. David went after her and found her. When he attempted to kill her, she pushed him away, and Ellie brutally murdered David with a butcher knife. She stabbed him several times, which was terrible to see.
Ellie was heartbroken, and while she was walking out the door, Joel found her and told her, “It’s okay, baby girl.”
