Director Todd Phillips has revealed a new look for ‘Joker: Folie à Deux,’ one year before its theatrical release. The image shows Joaquin Phoenix‘s Arthur Fleck enjoying the storm. The film is set to release in the United States on October 4, 2024.
On Instagram, Phillips shared the image and wrote, “Oct. 4, Thanks for all the messages. Four years ago, we had quite a ride. Lots of great memories. More to come.” See the image below.
Filming started in December 2022 and finished in April 2023. While filming was underway, leaked images of Lady Gaga in New York City surfaced online. Gaga is playing the role of Dr. Harleen Quinzel (Harley Quinn), a psychiatrist who falls in love with Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) and is also his greatest supporter.
Phillips, who directed the first film, returns to direct the sequel, “Joker: Folie à Deux.” The film also stars Zazie Beetz as Sophie Dumond, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey.
The film is produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, Bron Creative, and Joint Effort.
‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ will hit theaters on October 4, 2024, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
