Tom Holland‘s tight schedule for upcoming movies will affect his role as Spider-Man in Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled to begin filming in March 2025.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, a stunt double will reportedly film some of Holland’s scenes in Avengers: Doomsday due to his commitment to Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which is set to start filming in the same month.

The script rework for Spider-Man 4 is expected to be completed by March, with the film reportedly having a budget of $200 million. Filming is set to begin in Summer 2025. Holland now faces a scheduling challenge as he is committed to two MCU movies and Nolan’s film.
According to Alex Perez’s 2025 Discord Q&A (via The Cosmic Circus), Peter Parker’s struggles from Spider-Man: No Way Home will not be a major focus in Avengers: Doomsday. Instead, Spider-Man will stay focused on his mission, hiding his emotions as he faces Doctor Doom. Parker’s personal life will be explored later in Spider-Man 4.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to begin filming in late March 2025 in London, UK, and wrap by August 2025. The film will be directed by the Russo Brothers from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely.
In Avengers: Doomsday, Robert Downey Jr. will play the role of Doctor Doom, Chris Evans as an Nomad, Holland as Spider-Man, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Wonder Man, Dafne Keen as Laura Kinney/X-23 and Kelsey Grammer as Hank McCoy/Beast, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
Avengers: Doomsday will be a multiverse film—because it’s the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga. The plot of Avengers: Doomsday follows Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, who isn’t truly evil; he believes he is trying to save the multiverse from incursions. In his twisted logic, the only way for the multiverse to survive is to unify all universes in one place—Battleworld—under his rule. He sees this as the sole path to ensuring survival for everyone.
Produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Russo Brothers will produce through their AGBO banner.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on May 1, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars will be released on May 7, 2027.
