The Russo Brothers have officially confirmed that filming for Avengers: Doomsday will begin in April 2025.
During the premiere of Netflix’s The Electric State, while speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the Russo Brothers confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will be filmed “back-to-back” in London.

Joe Russo said, “It’s all in London, We’re shooting them fairly back-to-back, it’s a lot of work again, we may or may not survive, we’ll see.”
The Russo Brothers say that the new Avengers films will surprise fans. They have found a new and interesting way to tell the story. According to the brothers, the movies will be very different from previous Avengers films. The story will challenge what audiences expect, hinting at a fresh and unexpected take on the Avengers franchise.
Joe said, “These movies are going to be a surprise to people. We found a way into the story that’s very exciting to us … but very radical … we think it’s going to challenge audiences.” He added, “it’s challenging for us to execute. And it’s really exciting for us, it gets us out of bed to do it.”
The set work for Avengers: Doomsday is now under construction in London, UK. Some MCU stars, including Chris Hemsworth and Sebastian Stan, have been spotted at the location.
The film will be directed by the Russo Brothers from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely.
In Avengers: Doomsday, Robert Downey Jr. will play the role of Doctor Doom, Chris Evans as an Nomad, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Wonder Man, Dafne Keen as Laura Kinney/X-23 and Kelsey Grammer as Hank McCoy/Beast, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
Doomsday is a multiverse film because it serves as the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga. The plot follows Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, who isn’t truly evil; he believes he is trying to save the multiverse from incursions. In his twisted logic, the only way for the multiverse to survive is to unify all universes in one place—Battleworld—under his rule. He sees this as the sole path to ensuring survival for everyone.
Produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Russo Brothers will produce through their AGBO banner.
Avengers: Doomsday will hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
