New behind-the-scenes footage of the fight choreography from the canceled Warner Bros. Batgirl movie has leaked online.
On X (formerly Twitter), user DC Film News shared the footage from the Batgirl movie, featuring Leslie Grace in the title role fighting against stunt performers Emely Cartagena, Scott Rogers, and Stephen Dunlevy. Watch the clip below.
Back in 2023, the Batgirl movie was canceled by Warner Bros. Pictures despite being nearly completed, leaving directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah deeply disappointed, calling it the “biggest disappointment” of their careers. The budget was close to $90 million, and the studio shelved the project as part of a cost-cutting strategy.
The film starred Grace as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, with Michael Keaton as Batman, J.K. Simmons reprising his Justice League role as Commissioner Jim Gordon. Oscar winner Brendan Fraser played the villain, Firefly.

During an interview with Insider, the directors said that audiences never got the chance to judge the film for themselves, believing that viewers, not studios, should decide a movie’s fate. The cancellation also meant fans missed out on seeing Leslie Grace as Batgirl, Michael Keaton’s return as Batman, and Brendan Fraser’s Firefly.
Adil said, “We didn’t get the chance to show Batgirl to the world and let the audience judge for themselves.” He added, “Because the audience really is our ultimate boss and should be the deciders of if something is good or bad, or if something should be seen or not.”
Batgirl was initially set to follow The Flash chronologically, continuing the story of Michael Keaton’s Batman. However, based on Keaton’s character’s fate in the final cut of The Flash, the film’s direction may have changed.
Recently, Deadline reported that Warner Bros. is in talks to sell Coyote vs. Acme to Ketchup Entertainment for around $50 million. The distributor recently released The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie. If the deal goes through, Coyote vs. Acme is expected to be released in 2026. Additionally, Warner Bros. is reportedly considering selling Batgirl to another studio.
