Wes Anderson‘s ‘Asteroid City‘ opened with a 71% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is one of the lowest scores for a movie directed by Wes Anderson. The film’s plot revolves around the transformative events that take place during the annual Junior Stargazer convention in a retro-futuristic reimagining of 1955.

Asteroid City is directed and co-produced by Wes Anderson from a screenplay by Anderson and a story by Anderson and Roman Coppola. According to the film’s plot, “World-changing events spectacularly disrupt the itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention in an American desert town circa 1955.”
Asteroid City is set to be released in the United States through a limited theatrical release on June 16, 2023, followed by a wide release on June 23, 2023, distributed by Focus Features. Read review.
