Marvel Animation‘s What If…? Season 3 Episode 2, “What If… Agatha Went to Hollywood?” is now streaming on Disney+. Episode 2 showcases Stark Pictures’ first production. The playboy auteur quickly finds himself enchanted by his bewitching lead actress, Agatha Harkness. Little does she know, another superpowered co-star will be on the call sheet: Kingo.
In Episode 2, a universe where Agatha Harkness’ quest for power led her to discover the celestial growing deep within the Earth. She wanted to take the power, so she set out to design a spell to siphon it. However, pulling off a ritual of this scale would require an equally big production. So she turned to a blossoming industry that had built its reputation in Hollywood with the help of Howard Stark.
Following the big Hollywood shoot, Agatha and Howard planned to bring in the famous star Kingo. When Kingo arrived, he found out that Agatha had taken all the powers from the Eternals. Also, she manipulated Kingo, claiming she had not killed his friends and that all she wanted was his powers to save her world.
Kingo accepted the deal Agatha offered, but Arishem appeared and warned them not to proceed. Agatha began the ritual spell and took Kingo’s powers. She then finally absorbed the entire cosmic power of the growing celestial from the Earth’s core. After that, Agatha became so powerful that Arishem arrived to stop her. She cleverly attacked Arishem and took his powers too.
After becoming the most powerful being, Agatha tried to enslave the Earth. However, Kingo talked to her and convinced her to stay in Hollywood, and they became partners. Overall, Episode 2 is good but nothing extraordinary.
