The full episodes of Marvel Television’s Wonder Man have begun streaming on Disney+. Episode 4, ‘Doorman,’ introduces Byron Bowers as DeMarr Davis, a dimension-phasing former doorman whose fame sparks the ‘Doorman Clause.’
Episode four of Wonder Man is a largely standalone chapter that follows Demarr Davis (Bowers), a doorman at one of Los Angeles’ biggest nightclubs, whose professionalism even earns him a friendship with Hollywood A-lister Josh Gad.

After spotting toxic waste leaking from a Roxxon dumpster, DeMarr touches the substance and is transported to a strange, door-filled alternate dimension. He later awakens in his apartment, where he discovers he can phase objects through his body.
When a fire breaks out at the club the following night, DeMarr uses his newfound powers to save Josh Gad and the patrons, leading a grateful Gad to hire him as his personal bodyguard and earning him the nickname “Doorman” in the press.
Gad casts DeMarr in the film Cash Grab, which becomes a commercial success and elevates him to celebrity status. Over time, DeMarr’s fame and wealth decline, leading to alcoholism. During production on Cash Grab 2, an intoxicated DeMarr loses control of his powers, resulting in Gad becoming trapped within the dimension.

The consequences are severe: DeMarr is put under lifetime DODC surveillance, studios push through the “Doorman Clause” banning superheroes from Hollywood, and Simon is devastated when he sees the news while working on his crime drama.
