Kevin Feige confirms ‘X-Men ’97‘ premiering next year, praising the final episodes for returning to the core of X-Men’s identity and the soap opera essence of the characters.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight during the premiere of ‘The Marvels‘, Feige revealed that the ‘X-Men ’97’ will premiere next year.

He said, “I saw some new (X-Men ’97) final episodes today, which really bring it back to that core of who the X-Men are and that soap opera that those characters represent.”

X-Men ‘97 serves as the revival/sequel to the iconic “X-Men: The Animated Series,” which aired for 5 seasons on Fox Kids from 1992-1997. The new series picks up right where the original left off, addressing the massive cliffhanger from Season 5.

X-Men ’97 Season 2 Will Premiere On 2023

At San Diego Comic-Con 2023, during the ‘Designing the X-Men’ panel, Marvel Studios showed an exclusive clip of ‘X-Men ’97.’ The clip revealed Master Mold, a pregnant Jean Grey, Archangel, and Bishop as official members of the team, with Cyclops uttering the classic “To me, my X-Men” line.

The plot follows Storm and Wolverine as they try to continue the X-Men. Magneto comes in and wants to step up for Charles Xavier. Sinister comes in to try to end the X-Men once and for all. According to reports, The second season of ‘X-Men ’97’ is still in development. It is currently in the writing phase, which is “nearing completion.“

  • Gui Agustini as Roberto da Costa/Sunspot
  • Holly Chou as Jubilee

Created by Beau DeMayo, will premiere on January 3, 2024, on Disney+. The series is directed by Jake Castorena and Chase Conley. The Newton Brothers will compose the score for the series.
