Paul Bettany has confirmed that Vision will return to the MCU.

Bettany’s Vision, who last appeared in the MCU show ‘WandaVision‘ alongside Elizabeth Olsen, is set to return in the upcoming ‘Vision Quest‘ series. During Bettany’s MegaCon 2024 panel, as reported by The Direct, a fan asked if there was a possibility of Vision returning to the franchise.

Bettany replied, “Well, yeah. I mean, why wouldn’t I? Yes, 100%.” He added, “Well, I do have one idea. My plan was that he’d be sort of an omnipotent entity when he’s born. And then, as he gets more and more sophisticated with the amount of data that he’s receiving, he becomes more human.”

During MegaCon, Bettany reveals to Collider that the Vision’s death scene in ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ was improvised by him and Olsen’s Wanda.

Bettany said, “The Russo Brothers came up to us [Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen] and said, “Hey, listen, can you just improvise this scene?” And I go, “What? Improvise being a robot getting killed?” I’ve got no frame of reference! And Lizzie was just laughing at it, and we’re so relaxed with each other that… I don’t know how it would’ve worked other than that, because we both really trust each other and, somehow, we got to something that worked.”

According to reports, Earth-616 Wanda is alive and will return to the MCU with the launch of the ‘Vision Quest’ spin-off series. Also, the ‘Scarlet Witch’ solo project is currently in development at Marvel Studios, although there have been no official announcements made regarding it.

In the ‘Vision Quest’ arc in Marvel Comics (West Coast Avengers #42-45), government agents, perceiving Vision as a threat, dismantle and depersonalize him, resulting in the creation of the emotionless White Vision. This event leads to the end of Vision’s relationship with Wanda, the revelation that their children were illusions, and Vision’s exit from the West Coast Avengers to return to New York. While changes in the storyline were initially driven by a new writer’s preference, these events have become crucial to the synthezoid Avenger’s story, notably influencing the ‘WandaVision’ series.

The ‘Vision Quest’ series is developed by WandaVision creator, writer, and executive producer Jac Schaeffer. Megan McDonnell and Peter Cameron will be writing the script. it will be also a spin-off to ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries‘ starring Kathryn Hahn.

‘Vision Quest’ will premiere on Disney+ in 2025.
