(FYI: This post contains potential spoilers for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday.)
After Avengers: Endgame, Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, and Robert Downey Jr. have returned to the MCU with the filming of Avengers: Doomsday.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, a scene featuring Evans’ Steve Rogers, Atwell’s Peggy Carter, and Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, set in the past, is reportedly being filmed for Avengers: Doomsday at Windsor Great Park, England.

As we received set leak information, the Russo brothers are currently filming scenes in Steve and Peggy’s house (Luke Cage House), with four actors and their stunt doubles spotted on set. Evans is secretly filming for Doomsday under the codename “Luke Cage.”
Although Marvel Studios hasn’t officially announced Evans’ casting in the first wave of Avengers: Doomsday cast announcements, when asked about joining the new Avengers movie, Evans told ScreenRant, “I mean, it’s sad to be away. It’s sad to not be back with the band.” He added, “But I’m sure they’re doing something incredible, and I’m sure it’s going to be that much harder when it comes out and you feel like you weren’t invited to the party.”
In Avengers: Doomsday, Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom is searching for the people responsible for causing the incursions. Doom will have his own team, view the incursions as a threat to the multiverse, and plans to eliminate them.
Spoiler details reveal: “Steve Rogers going back in time to live happily with Peggy Carter is set to be a major plot point in Avengers: Doomsday, as his actions created incursions in the multiverse. Steve not only chose to stay in the past with Carter, but he also began altering events. Therefore, for the multiverse to survive, Steve has to die.”
According to Marvel Spoiler, Doctor Doom’s plan in Avengers: Doomsday is to end the multiverse and create a single, perfect timeline without cosmic chaos. The film will focus on presenting Dr. Doom’s history and motivations. Doom sees the multiverse incursions as a serious threat and plans to stop them using Franklin Richards. He believes he’s the hero of the story and will do whatever it takes to stay in control.

Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely, Avengers: Doomsday is now being co-written by McFeely and Michael Waldron, the creator and head writer of the Loki series. The film features cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and production design by Kasra Farahani.
