Warning: This post contains spoilers for Avengers: Doomsday.
The second trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday reveals Chris Hemsworth’s Thor praying to Odin for strength ahead of the upcoming battle. There is a big surprise waiting for fans. Yes, Odin hears Thor’s prayer and helps him.
According to scooper MyTimeToShineH, “In Avengers: Doomsday, Thor prays to Odin for help, and Odin answers by sending him an army.”

In the trailer, Thor says, “Father, all my life I have answered every call — to honor, to duty, to war. But now fate has given me something I never sought,” a tearful Thor says in the teaser. “A child. A life untouched by all this. Lend me the strength of the All-Fathers so that I may fight once more.”
“Defeat one more enemy and return home to her, not as a warrior but as warmth. To teach her not battle, but stillness — the kind I never knew. Please, Father, hear my words,” the Odinson says at the end.
Why does Thor need an army? It’s because Doctor Doom will have Doombots and take control of the Sentinels. A team consisting of Thor, Ghost, Human Torch, Red Guardian, Shuri, Steve, Bucky, and Ant-Man fights them on Earth-828.
