Robert Downey Jr.‘s Doctor Doom is going to make Chris Evans‘ Steve Rogers pay in Avengers: Doomsday, as he resides in Earth-838, which caused the multiversal incursion and also killed Doom’s family.
According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH, “Doctor Doom kills Steve’s son right in front of him in one of the most shocking moments of the film.”
In a recent plot leak, Doom takes Steve to his castle in Latveria on his Earth. There, Steve meets Doom’s followers, who are masked witches. One of them pretends to be Peggy to trick him. Doom explains that Steve’s presence in their universe started the incursion because he did not belong there.
Doom later tried dangerous experiments to stop it, but one experiment failed, killing his family and leaving him badly injured, forcing him to wear armor and a mask. To get revenge, Doom kills Steve’s son in front of him.
There is a deleted post-credit scene in The Fantastic Four: First Steps that features the Fantastic Four visiting Steve at his cabin on their Earth and asking him for help with a multiversal problem—the Incursions.
Following Endgame, Steve is living a quiet life with Peggy and their son when Loki arrives. Now in control of the timelines, Loki explains that the TVA sees Steve’s presence as a mistake and intends to erase the timeline. Loki gives Steve a choice—relocate to a different universe where he and his family can live without being hunted. They are then sent to Earth-828, the Fantastic Four’s world.
In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Anthony Russo said that Steve Rogers will have a “central role” in Avengers: Doomsday.
He said, “We have a special affinity for the character.” He added, “We can’t see this narrative without his central role in it. The special place he holds among the ensemble is something he will retain moving forward.”
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron.
