Finally, Sony has revealed a major update on the long-awaited Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. The first look and footage from the film were shown during Sony Pictures’ panel at CinemaCon 2026.
Following the screening, attendee Brandon Davis shared a description of the footage. The CinemaCon footage was shown in a 1.43 aspect ratio, confirming that the film is being made for premium large formats (PLF). The story picks up directly after the ending of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and Sony describes the film as the “final chapter” of Miles Morales’ story.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse CinemaCon Footage Details
The footage picks up right after the ending of Across the Spider-Verse, with Miles Morales talking to himself: “There’s no Spider-Man here,” before being captured by the Prowler from the alternate dimension.

Uncle Aaron tells Miles that he is not the Prowler, before the alternate Miles enters and says, “Who are you?” Miles replies, “I’m Miles Morales,” to which the alternate version responds, “You can call me the Prowler.”
Miles begs to be let go and tries to explain canon events, revealing that his father is going to die and that he needs to stop it. Aaron finds the entire Spider-Man and multiverse explanation ridiculous.
The scene turns tense when Miles begins glitching, forcing everyone to back away. Miles then warns them, “I don’t want to hurt you… you know what they say: don’t watch the mouth, watch the hands.”

The footage ends with a “one last time” montage featuring unfinished scenes: a car jumping a drawbridge, Miles training with a sandbag tied to his back, and glimpses of Peter B. Parker, Spider-Ham, and Gwen gearing up for battle. Spider-Punk also questions Miles’ plan to take on Miguel’s entire team.
The final shot shows the screen split vertically across multiple universes, with different Spider-characters standing at the bottom of each panel, looking out over their cities.
Here’s the new synopsis for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse:

Knowing that his family has been not only fractured but endangered by his calling, it’s a race against the clock for Miles to travel across the wildest reaches of time and space to fight for and reunite everything he holds most dear.”
