After a long, long wait, we finally have our first look at The Batman: Part II from director/co-writer Matt Reeves.
On X, Reeves shared the first official look at The Batman: Part II, which is now in pre-production. The image appears to be a camera test for the film featuring the Batmobile. Also, it’s official: the sequel is set during winter.
Reeves captioned the post on X with “#SnowTires.” See the images below.

According to these shots shared by Reeves, The Batman: Part II is being framed natively in 2.74:1 with crop guidelines for 2.39:1. If converted to 1.90:1 IMAX, much of the side image would be cropped out.

Mister Freeze has been rumored to appear in The Batman: Part II for years, especially after reports surfaced that the sequel would take place during winter. Back in 2022, Matt Reeves said he believed a grounded version of Mister Freeze could work well within his Batman universe.
Reeves said, “Mr. Freeze, that’s such a great story, right?” He added, “I think there’s actually a grounded version of that story that could be really powerful and really great. I just feel drawn to finding the grounded version of everything. So, for me, it would be an interesting challenge to figure out how that could happen.”
In The Batman: Part II, Robert Pattinson returns as Bruce Wayne/Batman, alongside Andy Serkis as Alfred, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Jim Gordon, Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent, Scarlett Johansson as Gilda Dent, and Charles Dance as Christopher Dent.
The Batman: Part II reunites director Matt Reeves and co-writer Mattson Tomlin for the sequel to The Batman and The Penguin. The first movie followed a younger Bruce Wayne caught in a noir-style mystery involving the Riddler and Gotham’s corrupt elite. It went on to gross $772 million worldwide during its theatrical run.
The Batman: Part II will hit theaters on October 1, 2027, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
