All eyes are now on Disney’s D23, where Marvel Studios is expected to officially announce the cast of its upcoming X-Men movie. The studio has reportedly finalized the cast, with several scoopers and insiders claiming that the full lineup will be revealed this Friday.
According to insider Alex Perez (via The Cosmic Circus), Marvel Studios’ new X-Men team is reportedly expected to be based around the original five members, with some additional characters.
The main premise is: “After years in hiding out of fear of rejection and persecution, the mutants would finally step out of the shadows to save the world and prove they’re not a threat.”
The insider says Mister Sinister is reportedly at the top of Kevin Feige’s list of potential villains for the film.
The film reportedly features Jean Grey, Cyclops, Beast, Angel, and Iceman as the core lineup. Rogue won’t be a full-fledged member of the team, but she’ll still play an important role in the story. Several other mutants are also expected to appear at Xavier’s School.

Recently, scooper James Mack revealed that Marvel Studios is reportedly considering Azazel as one of the villains for the X-Men movie.
So, the new X-Men movie is moving away from the familiar Magneto and Brotherhood storyline. However, Magneto could still appear. The X-Men: First Class cast is reportedly unlikely to return for future Marvel projects, as there have been no indications of plans for their return.
Moving forward in the next MCU Saga, Tom Holland‘s Peter Parker will become a close friend of Jean Grey and the X-Men. Remember, there were rumors about some mutants hating Peter because of the Universal Inhibitor, which he created.
The film will be directed by Jake Schreier from a script written by Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo. It will focus on a coming-of-age story and follow a younger team that grows over time.
Marvel boss Kevin Feige says the X-Men will be the core of the next MCU saga. He says acquiring the X-Men rights was about much more than just bringing Wolverine into the MCU. While Wolverine is an iconic character, Feige says the X-Men universe extends far beyond him. Marvel is actively working toward establishing a new era centered on the X-Men.
Marvel Studios’ upcoming film slate includes Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31, 2026, followed by Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027. The studio also has three untitled Marvel films scheduled for July 28, 2028, May 4, 2029, and July 13, 2029, while Black Panther 3, Ghost Rider, and X-Men are currently awaiting release dates.
