A major MCU character return is reportedly set to feature in the post-credits scenes of Avengers: Doomsday. Meanwhile, Avengers: Secret Wars is reportedly set to adapt the main concept from the 2015 comic book storyline, as well as elements from The Children’s Crusade. The film will also reportedly feature a storyline from Avengers Assemble! involving Prime Loki.
According to scooper James Mack, the post-credits scenes in Avengers: Doomsday will include one featuring Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff and another featuring Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. These are reportedly the “chosen” and “confirmed” scenes for the current cut of Avengers: Doomsday.
In Avengers: Secret Wars, Wanda will reportedly be manipulated by Doctor Doom, have her memories erased, and become one of his trusted allies.
Wanda will also reportedly serve as the queen of an army on Battleworld and babysit Franklin and Valeria Richards.
Recent additional photography for Avengers: Doomsday reportedly included several scenes featuring Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff. Scooper MyTimeToShineHello also reported, “Elizabeth Olsen shot more for a Doomsday post-credits scene. It’s key.”
In a recent interview, Marvel President Kevin Feige revealed how Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić’s 2015 Secret Wars reshaped the Marvel Universe after the multiverse was destroyed. The comic ended with the Marvel Multiverse being “rebuilt and retooled for the modern age.” The post-Secret Wars Marvel Universe then branched out in “all-new, all-different directions.”
Feige has previously described this approach as a “reset” and a “singular timeline” rather than a traditional reboot.
