Jennifer Lawrence revealed why she chose a theatrical release instead of streaming for her upcoming r-rated film ‘No Hard Feelings‘. Lawrence told APN News that, “I look much better at 12 feet high.“

No Hard Feelings follows the story of Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence), an Uber driver in Montauk, New York, who is facing financial troubles after her car is repossessed. In order to make ends meet, Maddie accepts a Craigslist posting from a wealthy couple who are looking for someone to help their socially awkward teenage son, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), gain life experience.

Maddie agrees to become Percy’s “girlfriend” in exchange for a Buick Regal. Her job is to “date his brains out” and help him navigate the complexities of adult life. Despite initial reservations, Maddie begins to form a bond with Percy and helps him come out of his shell.

The film is directed by Gene Stupnitsky from a screenplay he co-wrote with John Phillips. Stupnitsky said, “The reason I wrote this movie for her is because I knew how funny she was and I wanted everyone else to know. I mean, people know she’s funny, but they wanted her in a comedy. I thought, yes I know how to do this. I know how to write her voice.” Stupnitsky added, “I remember I told her, ‘I really want you to experience the feeling of sitting in a theater with hundreds of people laughing.’ She’s had many, many experiences in film, but she hasn’t quite had this one.”

Stupnitsky continued, “Jennifer Lawrence is dressed like what she thinks is a 19-year-old’s idea of a sex fantasy. And she’s wrong.” He added, “Andrew Barth Feldman is like the one kid she can’t seduce.“

The film also stars Matthew Broderick as Percy’s father, Laura Benanti as Percy’s mother, Natalie Morales as a friend of Maddie, Scott MacArthur as a friend of Maddie, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Gary, Hasan Minhaj, and Kyle Mooney.
