Daisy Edgar-Jones (Twisters, Where the Crawdads Sing) is reportedly being considered to star alongside Chris Hemsworth (Thor: Love and Thunder, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga) in Paul King‘s Prince Charming film.
According to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, Disney is actively in talks with Edgar-Jones to join the live-action adaptation of Prince Charming. An official announcement is expected soon.
In Disney’s world, Prince Charming is the love interest of several Disney princesses. While he is often associated with classic animated films—like Sleeping Beauty and Snow White—his true origin is in Cinderella, where he is Cinderella’s actual love interest. This means that Edgar-Jones would also be stepping into the role of a Disney princess.
Directed by King—who co-wrote the screenplay with Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker—specific plot points remain undisclosed.
Edgar-Jones recently starred in Twisters alongside Glen Powell, which grossed $371 million worldwide. Additionally, her new film On Swift Horses, directed by Daniel Minahan, had its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
Hemsworth recently voiced Optimus Prime in Transformers: One, directed by Josh Cooley, which grossed $113.8 million worldwide. He was also seen in George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga as Dementus, alongside Anya Taylor-Joy. The film made $173 million against its budget of $168 million. Hemsworth is set to star in Amazon MGM Studios’ thriller Crime 101, which is currently in production.
Filming is scheduled to begin in 2025, with the release date yet to be announced.
