DC’s Supergirl recently had a test screening and is said to be very good, receiving a positive response. It is said to have a much darker and more serious tone than James Gunn’s Superman.
According to YouTuber AxelTalksFilm, David Corenswet‘s Superman will appear in “at least three scenes” in Supergirl and is reportedly “very important to Kara’s character development… he’s not there just to be there.” Insider @Cryptic4KQual confirmed that he appears “once physically.”

Supergirl is described as a mix of elements from Superman, James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Logan, Man of Steel, and The Last of Us, blended into one film without the R-rated elements. Milly Alcock is “an absolute star” in Supergirl and delivers a “charming” performance as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl.
Jason Momoa’s Lobo will reportedly play an important role in the film, especially in the final act. The character was originally removed from Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King, but the filmmakers decided to bring him back for the big screen version.
Meanwhile, audiences seem divided over the film’s villain, Krem of the Yellow Hills. Some viewers described him as “extremely menacing” and a tremendous villain, while others called him “lame” and “underwhelming.”
Supergirl, DC Studios’ newest feature film to hit the big screen, will be in theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures, starring Milly Alcock in the dual role of Supergirl/Kara Zor-El. Craig Gillespie directs the film from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira.
