Every Marvel studio distributed by Sony was ranked, from greatest to worst. Sony’s Spider-Man Universe started with the release of the first Spider-Man film in 2002, directed by Sam Raimi and starring Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man/Peter Parker. The franchise continued with two sequels, Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Spider-Man 3 (2007). The franchise was then rebooted in 2012 with The Amazing Spider-Man, directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was released in 2014, but plans for further sequels were eventually canceled. We have ranked the films from best to worst. Below, you can see the list.

1. Spider-Man 2 (2004)
Spider-Man 2 follows after defeating The Green Goblin, Peter Parker’s life finally seems to be going well. But things get even harder when he needs to learn to balance his life as Peter Parker with his work & his college and the life of Spider-Man fighting crime. But then a new villain known as Doctor Octopus arises & begins to terrorize New York, but now things get harder when Peter’s powers begin to go away. Now he needs to reach a decision on whether he wants to continue as Peter Parker or Spider-Man.

2. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson from a screenplay by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham, the movie is a sequel to “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” (2018). Shameik Moore reprises his role as Miles and stars alongside a cast that includes Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Vélez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac.
According to the film’s plot, Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters the Spider Society, a team of Spider-People charged with protecting the Multiverse’s very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must set out on his own to save those he loves most. 3. Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Spider-Man: No Way Home follows when Spider-Man’s identity is now revealed, our friendly neighborhood web-slinger is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life as Peter Parker from the high stakes of being a superhero. When Peter asks for help from Doctor Strange, the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

4. Spider-Man (2002)
“Spider-Man” centers on student Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) who, after being bitten by a genetically-altered spider, gains superhuman strength and the spider-like ability to cling to any surface. He vows to use his abilities to fight crime, coming to understand the words of his beloved Uncle Ben: “With great power comes great responsibility.”

5. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
Miles Morales has just started at a new school and is struggling to fit in. Then he is bitten by a radioactive spider and he obtains certain powers, similar to those of Spiderman. He doesn’t know what to do with the powers, or how to control them, so naturally, he turns to Spider-Man for advice.

6. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
Young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns home to live with his Aunt May after his experience with the Avengers. Under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine — distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero. Peter must soon put his powers to the test when the evil Vulture emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear.

7. Spider-Man 3 (2007)
Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) and M.J. (Kirsten Dunst) seem to finally be on the right track in their complicated relationship, but trouble looms for the superhero and his lover. Peter’s Spider-Man suit turns black and takes control of him, not only giving Peter enhanced power but also bringing out the dark side of his personality. Peter must overcome the suit’s influence as two supervillains, Sandman and Venom, rise up to destroy him and all those he holds dear.

8. Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)
Peter Parker’s relaxing European vacation takes an unexpected turn when Nick Fury shows up in his hotel room to recruit him for a mission. The world is in danger as four massive elemental creatures — each representing Earth, air, water and fire — emerge from a hole torn in the universe. Parker soon finds himself donning the Spider-Man suit to help Fury and fellow superhero Mysterio stop the evil entities from wreaking havoc across the continent.

9. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
Abandoned by his parents and raised by an aunt and uncle, teenager Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), AKA Spider-Man, is trying to sort out who he is and exactly what his feelings are for his first crush, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). When Peter finds a mysterious briefcase that was his father’s, he pursues a quest to solve his parents’ disappearance. His search takes him to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), setting him on a collision course with Connors’ alter ego, the Lizard.

10. Madame Web
Meanwhile, in another universe… In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel’s most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures—if they can all survive a deadly present.
Directed by S. J. Clarkson from a screenplay by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama. The film is the sixth installment in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU). The film stars Johnson as Madame Web, Sydney Sweeney as Julia Cornwall, Celeste O’Connor, and Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim as Ezekiel Sims, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet.
11. Ghost Rider (2007)

15. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2012)
Nicolas Cage returns as Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Still struggling with his curse as the devil’s bounty hunter, Johnny is hiding out in a remote part of Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy from the devil. At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy and possibly rid himself of his curse forever.

16. Morbius (2022)
