Netflix dropped a new action-packed trailer for Extraction 2, starring Chris Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, a former SASR operator who has transformed into a black ops mercenary. The film will premiere on Netflix on June 16, 2023. Watch the trailer below.
Extraction 2 is a sequel to the first film that was based on the graphic novel ‘Ciudad’ by Ande Parks, from a story by Ande Parks, Joe Russo & Anthony Russo, with illustrations by Fernando León González. Directed by Sam Hargrave.
The film also stars Golshifteh Farahani as Nik Kahn, Adam Bessa as Yaz Kahn, Olga Kurylenko as Mia, Tinatin Dalakishvili as Ketevan, Andro Jafaridze as Sandro, Miriam and Marta Kovziashvili as Nina, Daniel Bernhardt as Konstantine, Tornike Gogrichiani as Zurab, Levan Saginashvili as Vakhtang, and George Lasha as Sergo.
Chris Hemsworth’s Unforgettable Fire Stunt in Extraction 2
In a recent interview with Empire Online, director Sam Hargrave revealed Chris Hemsworth’s dedication to creating an unforgettable moment in Extraction 2. He said Hemsworth was on fire to try to create “the crazy one in cinema history.” Hargrave said, “For me, the image of Chris Hemsworth beating the shit out of a bunch of prisoners, while on fire, in the snow was something that I couldn’t pass up.” Hargrave added, “And hats off to Chris. It wasn’t CG fire. And he had to do it over and over.” The sometimes-god-of-thunder was fearless in braving more of the elements. “I don’t know a lot of people, let alone Hollywood A-listers, who are going to let you light them on fire while on camera.”
The film is produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Chris Hemsworth, Patrick Newall, and Sam Hargrave, with Angela Russo-Otstot, Jake Aust, Benjamin Grayson, Steven Scavelli, Christopher Markus, and Stephen McFeely as executive producers.
Extraction 2 will premiere on Netflix on June 16, 2023.
