Viola Prettejohn, Claire Foy, Olivia Colman, and Imelda Staunton have been cast to play Queen Elizabeth at different stages of her life in the upcoming Season 6 of ‘The Crown‘.
Claire Foy played the younger version of Queen Elizabeth II in the first two seasons of the show (2016–2017), while Olivia Colman played the role for the third and fourth seasons (2019–2020), playing an older version of the Queen. Imelda Staunton takes on the role of Queen Elizabeth II in the fifth and sixth seasons of ‘The Crown.’

In ‘The Crown’ Season 6, Viola Prettejohn will play a young Princess Elizabeth during the 1940s, taking on the role of a new Elizabeth II.
‘The Crown’ traces Queen Elizabeth II’s reign from her wedding in 1947 to the early 21st century. The sixth season is expected to focus on the years 1997 to 2005, including events like Tony Blair’s premiership, the death of Princess Diana, and the early relationship of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The Crown was created by Peter Morgan, a British screenwriter and playwright. The show is produced by Left Bank Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Television and was initially developed for Netflix.
The release date for ‘The Crown’ Season 6 has not yet been announced on Netflix.
