A lead actor has been cast for Harris Dickinson‘s directorial debut, Limousine Dreams.
According to The New York Times, Frank Dillane (Renegade Nell, Viena and the Fantomes) is set to play the main role in Limousine Dreams. The film follows a young drifter attempting to reassimilate into London society.
Filming wrapped up during the summer, and the project is now in the post-production stage. Dickinson is currently dedicating most of his time to editing and finalizing the film.
During the interview with The New York Times, Dickinson explains why he chose directing instead of acting. For him, acting comes with personal challenges like vanity, self-confidence issues, and insecurities. Directing shares similar challenges but offers the support of a collaborative team.
Dickinson said, “The thing with acting that I find is that there are many other things that get wrapped up in it, like vanity, self-confidence, and insecurities.” He added, “With directing, that is also the case, but at least you have a team of people to lean on and support your vision. Whereas with acting, you’re on your own.”
Dickinson recently starred in Halina Reijn’s Babygirl, alongside Nicole Kidman. The film follows a high-powered CEO (Kidman) who puts her career and family on the line when she begins a torrid affair with her much younger intern (Dickinson). It is now playing in theaters across the United States, distributed by A24.
The release date and film festival premiere details for Limousine Dreams have not been disclosed yet.
